Prior to joining Shine Lawyers, Lily worked at a human rights law firm specialising in abuse. During her time there, the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in State Care were released, marking a significant moment in New Zealand’s legal and social history. The Commission’s findings contributed to important policy reforms aimed at addressing the harm experienced by more than 200,000 New Zealanders.
Lily considers it a privilege to have worked alongside survivors during such a pivotal period, helping clients navigate deeply personal and traumatic experiences with compassion, empathy, and a trauma-informed approach. One of Lily’s proudest professional achievements to date has been facilitating more than $500,000 in settlement payments for survivors of abuse in care matters. For Lily, being able to contribute to outcomes that provide clients with a sense of acknowledgement and justice has been both rewarding and motivating as she continues to build her legal career.
Lily holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Criminology with a minor in Art History, as well as a Professional Legal Studies qualification. She is first aid trained and will be admitted to practice in the High Court of New Zealand in late 2026.
