Mobeena is a Senior Associate and Manager of our Christchurch office. She has a BCom from UWS in Sydney and a Juris Doctor (Postgraduate Law) from UTS in Sydney. She was admitted to the NSW Bar in 2010 and in New Zealand in 2015. She has over ten years’ experience specialising in plaintiff insurance litigation.
Mobeena began her career working for one of Australia’s largest superannuation and insurance litigation practices. She has acted for unions and workers advising on worker’s compensation, military compensation and public liability issues. Mobeena ran the insurance department of a Sydney law firm renowned as a leader on historic child sex abuse claims and was involved in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Mobeena now manages the Christchurch litigation practice and has a particular interest in earthquake matters against EQC and insurance companies in the High Court Earthquake List. She is also the New Zealand contact for Shine’s practice for compensation for victims of abuse and is actively involved in pursuing claims for abuse victims involving churches, schools, and government organisations.
