Chelsea Pittam is a Solicitor in Shine Lawyers’ Christchurch office. She primarily works in earthquake insurance law and abuse law, as well as general civil litigation.
Chelsea began her role at Shine Lawyers as a Law Clerk in September 2021, based out of our Christchurch office. She is due to graduate from Canterbury University with a Bachelor of Laws in June 2022.
Chelsea works across multiple areas of law, and with her previous experience as a claims adviser in a specialist insurance law firm, she has extensive experience in Earthquake Insurance Law and earthquake-related claims. She assists in guiding and supporting homeowners who are looking to pursue claims against the Earthquake Commission and other private insurers.
Chelsea also has experience in Sexual Abuse Law, working alongside survivors of sexual abuse to access the acknowledgement, services and compensation they deserve.
In her spare time, Chelsea volunteers at Community Law Canterbury where she assists on a range of legal issues including tenancy, family, and employment.
